Birthing from Within Childbirth Mentor
Welcome to Womb Wisdom Birth Services. I created Womb Wisdom in order to provide women and families with comprehensive birth services, from prenatal education and counseling, to labor and postpartum support, and after-birth healing products. I feel blessed to be able to work with pregnant and parenting women as I believe pregnancy and childbirth is truly a transformative time. It is a time that requires strength, flexibility, surrender, joy, and openness to life's possibilities.
I am a mother to two wonderful children. Each birth had it's own unique journey and taught me that birth is powerful and women are strong. My son was born in September 2007 and that experience changed me as a woman and greatly influenced my work. My daughter, born in 2010, was born peacefully at home in the water and also had lessons for me on trust and surrender.
In addition to my "birth work", I have worked for many years in the nonprofit field. I have my Masters Degree in Counseling, and work with women, teens, children and families in a variety of settings. I have worked for many years as a Social Worker with foster infants, toddlers and children, and have worked with pregnant and parenting women with substance abuse issues. I have also worked with Best Start Birth Center as as a Social Worker and Counselor. I have had the wonderful opportunity teach not only the Birthing from Within classes, but Childbirth, Breastfeeding, Baby Basics/Infant Care classes, as well as teach at San Diego State University's graduate counseling program.
